Ruth has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Hawaii specializing in fabric design, and a Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from UCSD in San Diego. She is a business owner of Specific Prints, a silk screen and fabric design company in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ruth is also the Director of The Mask Project, San Diego, CA.

She taught art classes for the Burn Institute, Glen Ivy Retreat Center, Self Heal Women’s Retreats, and St. Madeline’s Sophie Center, The Wellness Community, Being Alive, Strong Hearted Women’s Native American Coalition, San Diego public school system, San Diego Silk Guild, Cancer survivors groups, and various retreats and summer camps.

 Ruth is a multi-media artist specializing in fabric design, silk screen printing, silk painting, mask making, personal totems, power sticks, sacred bowls, and altered books.
