The San Diego Silk Guild is proud to present a two-week exhibit showcasing the exceptional artistry of its members. This collection features a diverse range of silk paintings that highlight the unique techniques and creativity within the guild. Selected works will be available for purchase. This exhibit welcomes all visitors to explore the beauty and craftsmanship of silk art.

Art Drop-off: September 8th, 9:00am - 10:00am
Art Pick-up: September 19th 9:00am - 10:00am
Submission Description
All pieces must be made primarily of silk and be able to fit on a 14 inch wide glass shelf.
Items can be free standing or displayed on an appropriate base (plate holder,
mannequin head etc). Items must be able to stand on their own - they cannot lean. You
may submit up to 5 pieces.
Selections
A jury from San Diego Silk Guild will choose the items to be displayed based upon
digital submissions. Each artist who submits their work, will have at least one item
selected. Additional items will be selected based on space and the discretion of the jury.

Entry Fees and Sales
There is no entry fee for participating in this show. Your items may be for sale but do not
need to be. There is no commission on items sold. Sold items will remain on exhibit until
the end of the exhibit. All sales will be arranged directly between the artist and the
purchaser. You may include a QR code for payment / social media app or your personal
website. Assist is available to create a QR code - please ask. Prices will be listed on a
price list available to library patrons rather than on the information accompanying the
piece.
Artists Breakfast - we will meet at a breakfast restaurant in OB after drop off. Details
TBD.
Submission Guidelines
Digital photographs of your work should be submitted to Natalie Ilarraza
(Natalie@SDSilkGuild.org) before midnight of the deadline date.
Include:
● Your Name
● Your email address and phone number - QR code for payment, social media or
website if desired
● Name of piece
● Dimensions of piece . Please see below for how dimensions should be reported
so that we are consistent. Note: ** The display shelves in the case are 14 inches
wide; all items must be smaller than 14 inches wide
● Price of piece or NFS
● Description of process and materials
● Please include submission information on a card or paper attached to the back
of your piece
Use this diagram to help you report the dimensions of your work. For irregular shapes,
provide largest measurements of each dimension

Vases / Canvas Workshop
WORKSHOP FOR PUTTING SILK ON CANVAS AND ON GLASS VASES, VESSELS
Balboa Park, Spanish Village, Studio 17
Demonstrations, hands on exploration with attaching Silk to canvas, and or covering glass vase with your pre-steamed Silk. Bonding medium will be provided. Bring your Silk, canvas, vase or glass object to cover. Please keep your canvas to a maximum of 16” x 20” and your vase no larger than 6” high. If you need help finding vases, email me at info@SDSilkGuild.org.
